Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will I need to book?

Most individuals and couples find that 5 to 10 sessions give them the tools they need to feel better fast. Some people continue with a monthly check-in to fine-tune their skills. The important thing to remember is that you are in control of your sessions – how long, how often, and when you are ready to take a break or end our time together.

Am I covered?

If you have coverage through your workplace ask your provider if you are covered for sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor or a Registered Social Worker. I am both. You will pay me and be reimbursed by your provider.

I also see clients who are covered by the following organizations. These clients do not pay me ahead of time:

First Nations Health Authority

Crime Victims Assistance Program

Deaf Well-Being Program

Arete HR Inc.

What is the cost?

Individual intake appointments and subsequent sessions are $135.

Couples intake appointments are $225 and subsequent sessions are $150.

Do we have to talk about sex if we don’t want to?

No! You never have to discuss anything you don’t want to.

What are your policies?

In order to reserve your appointment without paying ahead of time, I request a credit card number.

Appointments not kept are subject to a first-time fee of $50.
Additional missed appointment fees are equal to the amount of the appointment cost. I am willing to waive fees due to excessive snowfall, illness, and other circumstances and am open to discussing fees at any time. Please phone or speak to me in person about fees.

Giving 24-hours notice ensures that no fee is charged.

Your credit card information is entered into the secure
Acuity®scheduling system. Your consent is filed with your paperwork.

Are you taking new clients?

Yes – I can usually fit you in within 1 to 2 weeks. Please phone if you need to get in sooner – a cancellation by someone else may mean that I can see you right away.
